The location is excellent, making it easy to explore local trails and enjoy beautiful scenery. Breakfast was consistently well-prepared and offered a good variety, catering to my dietary preferences. I found the parking situation to be a bit challenging, particularly due to the steep access road, and it would have been better if dogs were allowed in the breakfast area on all occasions.

Excellent attention to detail in room decor.
The mattress was incredibly uncomfortable and gave us neck pain.

this place is an excellent boutique hotel right in the heart of ambleside, and we had a lovely deluxe king room ensuite that was well appointed. we really loved how helpful the owners were when we faced issues with the extreme weather, and they even offered discounted extra nights which was super nice. the location is perfect for exploring the area, and breakfast was realy good and made to order. def recommend for a cozy stay!
the parking is a bit tight and tricky to maneuvere, especially at night. also, the ensuite was a bit small for my taste.

Spent a lovely weekend here and loved the cozy atmosphere with a great breakfast and comfy beds. The garden area was perfect for relaxing with a coffee, and the TV room was a nice touch when we wanted to unwind. Just a heads up, the bathroom situation might be a little different than expected, but it didn't really take away from our experience. 😊

The stay at 1869 was exceptional, with a warm welcome from the host, Jane, who provided invaluable local insights. The room was clean and well-maintained, featuring modern amenities conducive to a business trip. Breakfast was tailored to my requests, offering fresh fruit, a selection of juices, and a properly cooked full English that fueled my workdays effectively. The proximity to local amenities and efficient transport services enhanced my experience significantly.
The driveway is steep, requiring careful maneuvering.

Cosy Accommodations with a Fantastic Breakfast!
My stay was delightful, with a warm welcome from Jane and a beautifully maintained room that felt like home. The highlight was definitely the breakfast, featuring locally sourced ingredients, which was tailored to my preferences every morning. The location was convenient for exploring Ambleside, though parking could be a challenge for less confident drivers.

The Deluxe King Room Ensuite featured a modern en-suite and stylish decor, providing a cosy retreat after a long day. The amenities included high-quality linens and thoughtful touches that made the stay feel special, contributing to a comfortable atmosphere.
Finding the hotel proved a bit of a maze, particularly due to the complicated parking situation and one-way systems in the area. Inside the room, while mostly clean, the towel rack was dusty, and both the room and bathroom doors showed signs of wear with one lock broken. Noise from neighbors banging doors carried through thin walls, impacting nighttime sleep quality. communication regarding check-in procedures felt cumbersome, compounded by an absence of a contact method like WhatsApp for help, especially for international travelers.

The warmth of the room, along with the bathrobes and slippers, made us feel right at home. Plus, the complimentary tea and coffee selection was a lovely touch, making our evenings cozy!

The location was unbeatable! Just steps away from everything in Ambleside. The decor was lovely, but the steep hill was tough after a long drive. Would definitely recommend! 🌟

we had a fantastic stay at 1869! the townhouse apartment was stylishly decorated and perfectly located. with lovely views and a comfy bed, it was a treat to relax in the big armchair by the window. the bathroom was modern and had a powerful hot shower, which we really enjoyed. parking was a breeze with the permit, too! worth noting, the bathroom was next door which was fine for us.
